Volunteers needed at Brainerd International Raceway (Baxter, MN)

The Central Roadracing Association (CRA) is looking for volunteers to help staff our race events for the 2024 season. The first race weekend was a great success and is in the books but we seriously need more volunteers at the rest of our events!

The CRA was organized more than 50 years ago as a way for motorcycle enthusiasts to satisfy their need for speed in a safe and organized environment. Safety is our 1st priority with good and fair competition our goal. Our “home racetrack” is Brainerd International Raceway (BIR), located roughly 2 hours north of the Twin Cities.

The CRA is a unique motorcycle racing organization in that its staff is 100% volunteer…from corner workers to race stewards to the board of directors! The exciting action and fun atmosphere is what keeps our volunteers coming back race after race, month after month, year after year. Check us out at: www (dot) cra-mn (dot) com

As a volunteer, you will be involved with regional motorcycle roadracing at its best at Brainerd International Raceway. The 3 mile, 10-turn Donnybrooke course and 13-turn Competition course provides top-notch racing in several different classes. Volunteering would involve working on one of the corners as a flagger, communicator, safety person or other duty as designated by the corner captain. Experience is not necessary as training is provided for new workers every race weekend. The only requirement to work trackside is that you must be 18 or older. Volunteer positions for those under 18 are available in other positions away from the hot track for safety and liability reasons unless permission is granted by an attending parent or guardian.

The best part of the whole weekend is that it’s almost totally FREE to you! You get free admission, free camping, free lunch each day and a free t-shirt designating you as part of the race staff. The only costs to you would be the gas to get there and back as well as any extra food and beverages for breakfast or dinner.

The CRA is a nationally recognized organization for the quality of workers it produces. This can lead to many other opportunities with other racing organizations like MotoAmerica, NHRA and many other racing organizations that race at BIR.

Interested? Reach out to our worker liaison at the email listed on our website and tell them you want to be a new volunteer worker for 2024! All we ask is that you give it a try once. If you don't like it, you never have to try it again...but if you DO, you have one more thing in life to really look forward to every summer!

The remaining 2024 race season dates are:

July 5-7
July 19-21
Aug 30 - Sept 1
Sept 20-22
