Property description
Perfect for couples or a small family. We have one quiet king size bedroom perfect for sleeping late. There is a queen bed in the loft and a queen sofa bed.

Enjoy your morning coffee from the deck overlooking 800 acres of the beauty that Upper South Long Lake has to offer. Embark on a canoe paddle excursion or perhaps a little fishing. Drink in the day relaxing by the lake, a challenging game of bean bag toss, or a stroll through our 5 acres of stately pines and oak forest with a picturesque grassy glen. There is the ever present opportunity to view deer, bald eagles and osprey. As evening approaches, you can enjoy a crackling fire at the granite paved campfire area and listen to the loons serenade as you gaze upon a brilliant sunset.

Absolutely fantastic!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cabin. Everything is in fantastic shape, and they provide all sorts of extras including laundry soap! We traveled through the area as tourists and enjoyed everything. We are both in our late 60's and found this place very easy to navigate. There are steps in the front of the cabin, but they are not too bad. The steps down to the lake are also very doable; they will just take a little time. Kevin showed us around, and everything was explained in depth. I guess we decided to take a more leisurely approach to our trip, and we didn't do that many activities, but that is the beauty of a vacation. We caught fish from the dock - many of them. We enjoyed the great TV reception, and we enjoyed the wonderful weather we had while there. All in all, a wonderful vacation.

Everything I wanted it to be. The lake to ourself!
How many people have it all and are willing to share? These people do! Everything they need to have a great time on the lake is here and they shared it with us. We have only bought our groceries, bug spray, sun block and fishing bait. We have enjoyed the canoe and the fishing boat. This home is quiet and secluded just like we wanted. The kitchen and bathroom are modern, clean and comfortable. The whole house is cleverly designed and stocked. We caught a 26 inch Northern Pike on our first trip out and several crappie, bass and perch since then. There have been very few other boats and people in this area of the lake. A couple of planes landed and took off the other day. There was a sail boarder out last night. We have 2 days left to catch a walley. The first night we ate pan fried walleye at Grizzly's in Baxter, a great meal. Walmart is 10 miles away. When we pulled up and saw a couple of campers setting back away from the house we weren't sure, but they are only used by family- when guests are not here. Kevin was a great host to show us around, make sure we had what we need and make sure we knew how to contact them for anything we needed. We feel very welcome and comfortable. The washer and dryer will be great Friday morning to wash the bed clothes, towels and a load of our fishy clothes. The whole place is well designed. There is a king bed and 2 queen beds available. We love sleeping on the 2 queen beds so we can go to sleep and wake up looking out the windows at the lake and listening to the loons. I read that the loons are more vocal in May to June. We still have been thrilled to hear their song. It was almost like the Chevy Chase movie the first night, while Kevin was showing us around - a loon called on cue! Mosquitoes are out in the evening, very few deer flys. We had loons setting around us on the lake one day. The pictures don't lie, everything you see is here, I napped in the hammock, we've sat on the bench looking out at the lake, there are chairs on the deck, a gas grill. The fish cleaning house has been a huge help. We are not sauna fans, but it looks awesome too. We couldn't ask for nicer hosts and a nicer house to stay in. If the Lord permits, we will certainly be back.

Quiet Solitude
I went here with my son on a quick 3 day trip looking for some quiet time and fishing. The cabin was fully stocked with just about anything you forgot to bring. Kevin the owner took time and showed us around the 1st night we were there and walked us through the operation of boat and sauna. This cabin is the perfect size for a family of 4-6 and was tastefully decorated and well maintained. I would certainly return to this property if ever in the area again.

Campground on Lake with Hilton Amenities
My husband & I normally have restless nights sleeping away from home but not at this cozy and quiet cabin on upper south long lake. The bed in master bedroom was very clean and comfortable as most Hilton's we have stayed at throughout our travels. Modernized bathroom with very hot water; kitchen well equipped and organized; washer and dryer to do our laundry before we left was a huge plus. Weather was perfect and mosquitos were scarce during the week therefore we spent tons of time outdoors fishing, reading and sitting around campfire. Fishing not the best but caught enough for dinner one evening. Very peaceful and relaxing stay so we left here as "Happy Campers"!

Perfect Getaway
My wife and I came up from the Quad City area in Iowa for a 4 day getaway. Could not have been more pleased. Very comfortable cabin with all of the modern amenities. Large windows facing the lake let plenty of light into the living areas. Large front porch for morning coffee. The sun rose behind the cabin so it was shaded in the morning. If you want to fish in the morning set an alarm because the sun won't make it through the window to wake you. The temp was in the mid to upper 80s during our stay but we never needed the air conditioner. The cabin faces west and the sunsets across the lake are absolutely beautiful. Just a few minutes out of Brainerd and all that it has to offer yet wonderfully quiet. During the day just a few boat motors and in the evening (we had a campfire every night) the only sound was our own quite conversation and singing. And the frogs. We had planned to check out the area but aside from going out to dinner a couple of times and going out on the lake we never left the property. We plan to return see more of the area. Over all a great trip. Thanks so much for sharing the place with us.
