Maple was found by our barn the end of April and taken to the vet clinic where he was found to be 12-14 months old, malnourished and with an upper respiratory infection. A feline triple Snap T lab panel was run and Maple is negative for FELV/FIV/HW. He had his ears cleaned, Nexguard Combo for cats, four weeks of antibiotics and has been neutered and vaccinated against rabies. Currently, he weighs about 6# and deemed ready to go.
Maple is healthy, friendly, and coexisting peacefully with our two Border Collies (who are gentle and respectful of space) and an 2 older female cats as well as our senior neutered male cat. As the vet stated, he had a life of hard knocks and I would love to find him a responsible home. Since first posting Maple has blossomed and is quite the little character.
Recently he was part of a family birthday including a 7 month old and a 6 year old. Maple sat on the floor next to the baby while the child took toys out of a bucket, and sat near the older child opening presents. Maple plays with his kong cat toy, toilet paper, and the dog’s kong wubba.
Maple is a very quiet cat, perfect with the litter box, travels well in the car and is learning to wear and walk in a harness and leash.
