We purchased this original sculpture five years ago for $800 from a collector in Edina, Minnesota. The previous owners told us they fell in love with the beauty of Ron Stinson’s vision and his remarkable use of copper and patina.
I recently contacted Ron Stinson directly about this piece. His response:
“I absolutely love those fish!!! Great piece. I still have a similar one in my home gallery. I probably sold that for $1,200 back in 2008. Today I would never sell it for less than $2,000.”
We are moving and are offering this exceptional original piece for only $500.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ron Stinson has been designing and creating metal sculptures for more than 40 years. Inspired by nature and repeating patterns, his work captures a sense of movement through bold structure, vibrant color and texture.
His sculptures are individually formed, welded and finished by hand. He uses heat and chemical patinas to create beautiful shades of amber, deep purple, green, blue, burgundy, gold and silver. His work has been exhibited in galleries, juried exhibitions, solo shows and art festivals, and he has completed numerous private and corporate commissions.
This is not mass-produced wall décor. It is a large, original, signed work of art with wonderful provenance and direct confirmation from the artist regarding the piece and its value.
Originally sold by the artist for approximately $1,200 in 2008.
Artist states he would not sell a similar piece today for less than $2,000.
We paid $800 five years ago.
