Digital positioner for many uses, large satellite dish, solar panels, conveyor count and stop, move-stop move-stop cycles ect. 24 vdc power in = motor output power up to 10 amps.
I make 3 models:
Manual control, manual/ automatic control and automatic with timer.
How it works
Press the up button and control relay 1 enables count feed back from the motor sensor and motor rotation to count up.
Press the down button and control relay 2 enables count in opposite direction and motor to turn in opposite direction and enables control relay 1 to start motor rotation and count feedback to count down.
The counter is the main function in either manual or auto mode. It keeps track of the motor position. In manual mode you must press and hold up or down button to move. For longer distances auto mode is a nice feature.
How to use auto mode:
Press left arrow button on the counter, each time its pressed each digit right to left will flash.
2. Press VV OR ^^ on the counter to decrease or increase the preset digits.
3. Once you have entered the preset position to move to, press mode on the counter and switch to auto mode.
4. If the number you entered is less then your current position press the down button and release. If the number is higher press up and release.
5. When the numbers match the motor will stop.
6. Switch to manual mode and fine tune by pressing up or down.
7. If you press the wrong direction by mistake or want to stop at any time switch to Manual mode then back to auto and press direction to move.
Press and hold down button until the motor reaches the mechanical limit or the home position and press reset on the counter to zero it out.
The automatic with timer
How it works
In manual mode it works as above. In auto mode the timer controls when the motor moves. 17 on off setpoints minimum of 2 min cycle (1 min. on 1 min. off) and up to 7 days. Minimum move time is 4 seconds. 2 limit switches are needed for full up full down signals n.c. for full down n.o. for full up. I used 3 wire prox 6 to 36vdc n.o. pnp and n.c. npn.
Example for solar panels: Program timer for 1 min. on starting at 8 am and every hour until 8pm (13 setpoints). Program the counter for distance to move motor for this example 90 deg. 90/13=6.92 deg. so aprox. 7 deg.
So at 8am the motor will start, move 7 deg. and stop and every hour until 759pm. At 8 pm the motor will move to up limit and return to down limit and stop until 8 am the next day.
The positioners are hand built and tested to maximum conditions.
The manual positioner is $95 for 5 amp and $125 for 10 amps.
The manual/automatic positioner is $195 for 5 amps and $225 for 10 amps.
The automatic with timer positioner is $250 for 5amps and $275 for 10 amps.
