When tested, the DVD side seems to play and function perfectly.
The VCR side - when tested - loads and plays video tapes just fine. When ejecting the tapes it does tend to stick when the lifting mechanism is rising to the door level. With a little help from a finger or tool the tape rises to the correct level for tape removal.
This tells me the mechanism likely needs a good cleaning and some lubrication to restore the full smoothness of mechanical function.
Sorry - no remote but I see replacement ones are available on EBay.
