This is an extraordinary bike. Rare ~ Specialized S-Works Festina Team, 48cm, Campagnolo Record Road Bike. Condition is mint. It is size 48cm.
Some history. This is a limited production S-Works Festina Team bike with E5 frameset. The frame was not available to the public through retail outlets. This frame is the last Specialized frameset handmade in the USA. The fork is carbon with alum steering tube. This is the frameset of the infamous Festina doping team of 2001. Yes, there were doping scandals before Lance!! These bikes were used in all the great pro events back then.
It is the original way the team built them using new Campagnolo 10 speed components. This bike has maybe 400 miles on it, my wife quit road biking due to neck problems, so it has been in storage for quite quite while.
No dents or dings on the frame and I can find no significant cosmetic issues with the components except for a cut in the tape on the right handlebar. It is tuned and seems to be working well. The bike weighs under 16 lbs sans pedals. It has currently has vintage yellow Look pedals on it and for $50 I will leave them on the bike, or I can remove them and you can install your own. The saddle is a leather special production saddle in the team colors. It includes the specialized bike computer, which needs new batteries.
The saddle alone was close to $300. The bars and stem are ITM K-swords. I'm including an official unused Festina water bottle.
Cassette is 12/25. Crankset is 53/39. See photos for more details and specs.
The MSRP for the bike in 2001 was $4299. That was some real money back then!
