Antique Cast Iron Coal Stove Clinker Remover Claw Grabber Tool, in good working condition.The purpose of this antique tool was to remove and discard clinkers (the material remaining after burning coal in a stove or furnace). It could be used to move logs around in a fireplace or outdoor campfire, or even to grab items from high shelves. It is approximately 45 inches in length. Each of the three curved claws is approximately 5 inches.The metal handle measures about 4 3/4 inches by 2 1/4 inches and turns to open and close the claws. When you turn the handle, the claws close to grasp objects, but it can also open past 180 degrees. This antique tool would be great to display near your fireplace, to use at a camp fire, or to use as an extension to retrieve hard to reach items.
